Here are a pair of interesting science posts.
First, via Jonah Lehrer at The Frontal Cortex, we have a post about Prince Rupert’s Drops, a glass structure with interesting physical properties. Included is a video of what happens when you clip the end of the tail of a Rupert’s Drop.
Second, Peter Etnoyer at Deep Sea News has a post about recent study of deep sea gold corals and black corals indicate that these animals break the records for longest-lived animals, with a lifespan between two and four thousand years.
