Documentary makers sue police

The makers of the Channel 4 documentary Undercover Mosque are suing the West Midlands Police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for libel. Last August, those two bodies condemned the documentary in a joint statement, and referred it to the regulatory bodyOfcom, as described here. Ofcom rejected the complaint, finding that the one-hour documentary had not misled the public.
The documentary contained shots filmed undercover in several mosques in the UK, and showed “moderate” Muslim clerics preaching hatred of non-Muslims, antisemitism, inferiority of women, and calling for the killing of homosexuals and apostates.
