Go Sarah!

A number of sources are discussing the idea of Sen. McCain picking Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate. Jack Kelly has an article at Real Clear Politics arguing that Gov. Palin is likely a better choice than most others considered for the position:

There is one potential running mate who has virtually no down side. Those conservatives who’ve heard of her were delighted to learn that McCain advance man Arthur Culvahouse was in Alaska recently, because they surmised he could only be there to discuss the vice presidential nomination with Gov. Sarah Palin.

At 44, Sarah Louise Heath Palin is both the youngest and the first female governor in Alaska’s relatively brief history as a state. She’s also the most popular governor in America, with an approval rating that has bounced around 90 percent.

Hamilton Roberts at Conservative for Change also makes the case, including a link to the Draft Sarah Palin for Vice President blog.

As a Republican (and an Alaskan), I support the idea as well; my only concern would be who would replace her as governor if she became veep, considering that Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell is seeking to replace Rep. Don Young as Alaska’s sole member of the House of Representatives.

After watching both McCain’s and Obama’s speeches on TV Tuesday night, McCain no less than NEEDS to run Alaska Gov Sarah Palin as his VP mate.

Seems the current Alaska Attorney General could become Governor.

  2. Ted Says:

Bottom line, with Palin as VP, McCain WINS.

Without Palin, McCain likely does not win.

    Case closed.

Q&A How can McCain SIMULTANEOUSLY attract both Hillary AND Bob Barr voters? Answer: PALIN Veep!
