Glow-in-the-dark mollusk can predict human illness

Benny Bleiman of Zooillogix discusses how a protein involved in the bioluminescence of a type of bivalve mollusk called a piddock can be used to detect human illness before any visible symptoms emerge. The researchers’ company has already isolated the protein, Pholasin, and made a testing product from it. It’s all very cool.
