Sewing your genes

This press release from the Royal Society of Chemistry describes the creation by Japanese researchers of a molecular “sewing machine” which manipulates long DNA strands much like a sewing machine manipulates thread, allowing for easier use of genetic probes which can normally be hard to detect due to DNA’s tendency to coil up tightly.
